Leadership
Leadership of the school rests with the Head of the School who is responsible for implementing the school’s strategic plan and overseeing the effective administration of all aspects of the school’s operation including staffing and educational programming. The staff leadership team works closely with the school’s Board of Directors to set policies and guidelines for the operation of the school as well as develop the school’s strategic plan.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the governing body of Riverside School whose primary responsibility is to support the school by determining the policies governing its administration and financial affairs. The Board is guided by bylaws that contain provisions dictated by law and our accrediting agencies, the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. Each Board Member is elected for one, three-year term and may serve two consecutive terms.
