A Riverside School education is a significant financial commitment, but it is one of the best investments you can make to create a successful student experience. We are committed to providing a variety of tuition options for families to make this experience a reality.

Tuition Payments

For the 2023-24 school year, annual tuition for Riverside School is $34,120. Payment options include installment plans through our tuition management payment system, TADS.

Financial Aid

To provide more access to the life-changing Riverside education, the school's growing Financial Aid Program is funded in part by Annual Fund donations, as well as by endowment income.

We use the TADS Financial Aid service to make an unbiased determination of your need. There is also limited financial aid available and partial tuitions awarded based on that need. For all students, financial aid applications are due by March 3. For students applying after March 3, financial aid applications may be submitted, but funding may not be available.

Use of Section 529 Plans to Pay Tuition

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 contains a provision that allows the use of Section 529 accounts to pay for private K-12 education up to $10,000 per year, per child starting in 2018. These accounts can be established by parents, grandparents, or family friends and contributions can receive state tax advantages. The investments grow tax free and withdrawals are not taxed on capital gains, to the extent they are used to fund qualified educational expenses.

Medical Expenses as Itemized Deductions

If you itemize your tax deductions, you may be able to include in medical expenses the cost of attending Riverside School, as a Special Education tuition expense. Student Loans AND Scholarships

Funding may be available through church-related opportunities, community service organizations, or philanthropic foundations. You may also apply for a fixed-rate education loan through www.yourtuitionsolution.com.

Virginia Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (VBIDA) Scholarship and Grant Information

The purpose of the Virginia Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (VBIDA) Scholarship Fund is to provide funds to a student in need of assistance with funding services that meet the remediation needs of the student.

Applicants qualifying for this award are students in grades 3-12 who demonstrate for remediation or other educational services or attending a school that will enhance the student’s ability to overcome the challenges presented by being a person diagnosed with dyslexia.
