The Director and Principal oversee the running of the school, which has 38 staff and faculty, including six classroom teachers, 17 language fundamentals tutors, three resource teachers, and two consultants.

Instruction at Riverside is highly specialized. Our classroom teachers are state certified teachers with an unequaled commitment to creatively teaching and nurturing each child to his/her fullest potential.

Our Language Fundamental teachers are Orton-Gillingham trained. Riverside School's Orton-Gillingham training program is accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.

All of the teachers at Riverside School stress the direct teaching of basic skills. Since none of us is all-knowing, consultation with outside experts in the field of learning disabilities is needed. Riverside School's teachers attended monthly in-service workshops and annual conferences to maintain effective knowledge and enthusiasm in subject matter.
